Our Services

Our mission is to provide a safe place with a foundation of family-oriented morals and life skills for teenagers to become self-sufficient.

Life Skills

Adolescence is a period of risk-taking, experimentation, and greater vulnerability due to rapid psychosocial maturation and physiological changes. At this stage of life, young people are prone to negative peer pressure and poor decision-making.

At Quan’s House, we strive to help deal effectively with these challenges, develop positive and adaptive behaviors and attitudes, and live out their dreams. We offer comprehensive life skill training to allow them to come with managing their lives in a productive, responsible, and healthy manner.

Our training includes household management, health and hygiene, self-care practices, and meal planning and preparation.

Employment Skills

We understand that being employed is first step towards living and sustaining self-sufficient adulthood.

At Quan's House, we offer employment skills to help teenagers improve their performance, enhance collaboration with co-workers, and establish long-lasting relationships with managers, supervisors, peers and subordinates.

We educate them on how to minimize errors, make better decisions, raise their salaries, and, above all, realize their career dreams.

These employment skills are essential for the current and future work environment. They include time management, job-searching, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Community Networking

Technology has revolutionized the way people connect in the contemporary world. However, there is a wide socialization and networking gap among young people. Most of them hopelessly devote their free time to social media platforms or engage in online gaming in the comfort of their homes.

They end up being unsocial teenagers struggling with isolation and other mental issues. Since our inception, we have focused on finding the best ways to raise teenagers' online and offline social skills. We offer a spectrum of community networking activities, including group recreational sessions and social enhancement training.

We teach them about different ways they can contribute to their social well-being. We boost their confidence and ability to exchange ideas and help them create good networks that can lead to personal and professional growth.

Apartment Seeking

Teenage homelessness remains a headache in Ohio. A study by Ohio Capital Journal revealed that over 21,000 studying youths were struggling with homelessness in 2020-2021.

We are committed to strategically ending this problem by helping with apartment seeking and independent living.

Our team of experts traverses Ohio in search of affordable housing for young people. Once they have settled, we provide them with resources and tools to sustain their lives.

We also offer hands-on guidance, encouragement, and support.

Financial literacy is imperative for achieving economic stability and self-sufficient life.

This breakthrough program is designed to help teenagers track their spending, pull their credit reports, and make better economic decisions.

We have a team of financial advisors passionate about empowering generations toward financial freedom. We focus on enhancing their budgeting, saving, and investment skills.

We also teach them how to borrow wisely, apply for financial aid, leverage loan repayment option, and understand credit.

Academic Support

Access to quality education is key to independent living. However, most young people from low-income families and marginalized communities struggle to fulfill their education dreams due to insufficient and under-resourced public schools and a lack of tuition fees and stationery.

Our goal is to help teenagers conquer their dreams. We provide assistance and sponsorship for school-going children to access education and realize success.

We also offer academic motivation to raise their efforts and direct their behaviors and zeal toward better performance.

Transportation

The cost of commuting in Columbus and other major towns in Ohio has risen sharply over the past years. According to Business Insider, a person spends over $2,900 annually on transportation.

Such high costs can hinder marginalized teenagers from commuting or going to school.

That’s why we are in the process of acquiring a van that will offer reliable transportation services to the young people we serve.

This way, we will boost their mobility and disposable income while promoting social inclusion and equity.
